Job Description: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Location: San Rafael, CA 94903
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days
Hourly Pay on W2: $40 to $45
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team for a 13-week assignment in San Rafael, CA. The ideal candidate will assist physical therapists in providing therapy services that help improve patients' mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent patient care skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans to aid patients in their recovery and rehabilitation.
- Administer therapeutic exercises and modalities as prescribed by the physical therapist.
- Monitor patients' progress and report any changes or issues to the physical therapist.
- Educate patients and their families about the treatment process and how to perform exercises at home.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment by adhering to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Perform administrative tasks as needed, such as scheduling appointments and managing inventory.
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in California.
- Proven experience as a PTA, preferably in a clinical setting.
- Strong understanding of physical therapy principles, techniques, and equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
