Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality surgical care to pediatric patients, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to work in high-pressure situations, and a commitment to patient safety and education.
Duties
- Prepare pediatric patients for surgery and provide care throughout the surgical procedure.
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during operations, ensuring sterile conditions and proper instrumentation.
- Monitor patient vitals and respond to any complications during surgery.
- Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, recovery, and post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records using electronic health record systems like Epic or Meditech.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and patient safety standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and workflow efficiency.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Pediatric OR or a similar acute care setting.
- Clinical Operating Room experience, pediatric nursing experience including PICU.
- Must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years.
- Must have experience in an Academic Level 1 or 2 - Trauma center or similar-sized hospital.
Requirements
- Active WI State RN license or compact license.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), BLS certificates required.
- Compact or WI RN License required.
