Job Description: Occupational Therapist (Long-Term Care)
Location: Jacksonville, TX 75766
Shift: 8-hour days, 40 hours guaranteed
Duration: 13 weeks
Pay: $45 to $50 hourly on W2
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team at a Long-Term Care (LTC) facility in Jacksonville, TX. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to residents, aiming to enhance their quality of life and promote independence in daily activities. This role requires a strong commitment to patient-centered care, effective communication, and collaborative teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments of residents to determine their functional abilities and needs. Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help residents improve or maintain their functional abilities in activities of daily living (ADLs), including self-care, leisure, and work-related tasks.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with regulatory and facility standards.
- Patient Education: Educate residents, families, and caregivers on techniques and strategies to support continued rehabilitation and improve overall quality of life.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, nurses, and physicians, to ensure a holistic approach to resident care.
- Adaptive Equipment: Recommend and train residents in the use of adaptive equipment and modifications to enhance independence and safety.
- Compliance: Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures, ensuring the highest standards of practice and care.
Qualifications
- Education: Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Current Occupational Therapist license in the state of Texas.
- Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care setting is preferred but not required. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and proficient in documentation and time management.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
