Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist (OR - General)

Location: Lebanon, NH 03766

Job Type: 13 weeks contract

Pay: $45 to $50 hourly on W2

Job Description:

As a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) specializing in General Operating Room procedures, you will be an integral member of the surgical team at our Lebanon, NH facility. Your primary responsibility is to assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Preoperative Preparation:

   • Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment.
   • Ensure all surgical instruments are sterilized and in good working condition.
   • Verify the correct surgical procedure and ensure necessary supplies are available.
   • Assist in draping the patient and setting up the sterile field.

2. Intraoperative Duties:

   • Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during the procedure.
   • Maintain the sterile field and ensure adherence to aseptic techniques.
   • Handle surgical specimens and send them to the laboratory as directed.
   • Monitor patient vitals and assist with the application of dressings.

3. Postoperative Procedures:

   • Assist in the transfer of patients to recovery rooms.
   • Clean and restock the operating room for subsequent procedures.
   • Decontaminate and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.

4. Collaboration and Communication:

   • Work closely with the surgical team to ensure efficient and safe operations.
   • Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
   • Document surgical procedures and maintain accurate patient records.

Qualifications:

• Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a surgical setting, preferably with general surgery cases.
• Education: Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Skills:
  • Proficient in aseptic and sterile techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
