ICU/PCU Float RN – Lufkin, TX 75904
Location: Lufkin, Texas
Weekly Gross Pay: $2,100
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every Other Weekend
Hours: 36 hours/week (3x12s) – Guaranteed
Setting: Acute Care | ICU & PCU Float Pool
Start Date: June 2nd
Job Overview:
Join a dynamic nursing team in Lufkin, TX, as a Critical Care Float RN, providing care in both ICU (24 beds) and PCU (26 beds) units. You will play a vital role in managing high-acuity patients, responding to rapidly changing conditions, and titrating critical drips.
Requirements:

Experience: 3+ years in Critical Care

Licensure: Valid RN license – Ready to submit

Certifications:

ACLS (AHA)

BLS (AHA)

Education: BSN not required
-
Orientation: 12 hours plus unit-specific shadowing in ICU & PCU

Charting System: Allscripts – Paragon

ICU: 2:1 (up to 3:1 based on acuity)

Drips Titrated:
Levophed, Amiodarone, Heparin, Precedex, Propofol, Cardene, Nitro, Neosynephrine, Dopamine, etc.

Team Support:

ICU: No nurse aides

PCU: 1–2 aides per shift

24/7 RT coverage

Hospitalists 24/7; Intensivist during days

Monitor techs on site

Equipment: Vents, BiPAP, CPAP, Airvo
Float & Call Info:

Floating Required: Between ICU & PCU; may float elsewhere as needed

On-call/Standby: Not required
Dress Code:
Navy blue scrubs
Time Off & Scheduling:

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Holiday Requirement: Based on unit needs

Schedule Expectation: 3–4 shifts/week; 12-hour night shifts
