Tell us about the unit(s):
• Number of Beds – 31 (in construction, will end with 36 by 2026)
• Number of Staff – 110
• Type of staff:
o Day Shift – 8-10 (1 CNC, 7-9 RNs including Resource (break) nurse, 3 techs
o Mid Shift-8-10 mid shift RNs including Resource (break) nurses, 3 techs
o Night Shift - 8-10 (1 CNC, 7-9 RNs including Resource (break) nurse, 3 techs
• Patient Ratios – CA state Ratios for admit assignment-varies; ED is 4:1
• Type of equipment – Trauma, Stroke, Peds, STEMI Center equipment; standard HCA items (Belmont and Level 1 Rapid Infusers, Alaris, GE and Philips monitors, etc.)
• EMR – Meditech
• Level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Comprehensive Cardiac/STEMI Center, EDAP (Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics) Center, Base Hospital
• Adult and Pediatric ED services; care for all ages
Typical hiring profile
Skill Set Most recruited for:
Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• NIHSS
• TNCC
• ENPC
• CPI
• 1 Yr experience at an ED with STEMI, Stroke and L2 or L3 trauma services
• Must have worked with all ages of patients, birth to geriatric
• There is NO grace period to obtain these certs; must have prior to start
Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.
• 2-3 years ED experience at an ED with STEMI, Stroke and L2 or L3 trauma services
• Triage experience
• Worked at moderate to large sized facility (>20 beds or more than 150 visits daily)
List typical procedures performed on unit(s):
• Acute Stroke, STEMI, Trauma and Cardiac Care (IVs, drips, TNK or tPA, conscious sedation, intub/vent care, trauma care (chest tubes, rapid blood infusion, ventrics, etc.)
• Respiratory/vent care
• Peds care (IVs, venipuncture, catheters, drips, vents, monitoring)
• GYN Care
• Ortho and wound care
• Inpatient holding of admits

• Scrub Color/Attire - No color. No words or inappropriate designs on scrubs, naturally occurring hair color. Must wear underwear.

Weekends and On call(if any)
• Must work 4 weekend shifts/month and holidays as assigned.
• We try to accommodate schedule preferences, however staff have first priority. RTO agreed upon prior to start with contract are honored.
